PARTY TIME

Joe called (0) …for… Sandra at half past seven. The barbecue (16) ……was……to begin at eight but they had decided to get there about half past eight.

Sandra had opened her wardrobe (17) …and…. had looked through her clothes. She had spent a long (18) …time….. trying to decide what to wear. As it was summer time, she had (19) …finally….. chosen a flowered skirt (20) ……with/and… a short-sleeved blouse. (23) …However…. , as she now sat in the car waiting for Joe to start the engine, she began to have doubts. Was she (24) …too… formally dressed for the occasion? What if everyone else came in casual clothes? Should she have worn a pair of jeans instead? Joe tried his best to assure her that she looked beautiful and that a lot of girls (25) …would…..be wearing skirts and blouses like her. Sandra continued to be uncertain.

In the end, Sandra got out of the car and went back (26) …into…. the house. She quickly (27) …changed….. into a pair of jeans and a blue T-shirt.
